Translation workshop:Vishal Bhadani

Review of Transportation Workshop by Vishal Bhadani sir
 We have attended translation workshop on 1st January 2019 and talk with author Vishal Bhadani Sir. He started from the beginning of the story, how to translate any work into other languages. Some things to be notified for this is:

* Authentic self writing
* Drafting-Redrafting
*Paradox- like: Butterfly & Knife
       In the first session he read short story written by him and give some clue that how to write short stories or other forms of literature.

After that we have a second session by him. he gave common myths about translations is that...
*Untranslatability
*Translation is a small theory
*Most translators translate books
*Machine translation is crushing the demand for human translation
*Translation is either faithful or beautiful

'Translated is the closest reading of the text.'
Vishal sir has given us to some tips for career as a professional translator.

Intern - Trainee - Proficient - Expert
*Translate all type of documents
*Never translate without dictionary
*Never bluff, never cheat
*Read-re read after translate
*Start with your favourite genre
*Read variety of books in English fiction and nonfiction from different authors.
*Mix all the methods of translation you know.
*Hold your horses of creativity, just stick to each word

After that sir gave us worksheet for translate somethings like idioms, phrase, paragraph and sentence. And also we do some practical activities.

Either you find out equivalent or similar expression in the target language or use your creativity.
At the last sir introduce one word is that "અકારોકાબા" which meaning in Brazilian language is ફોટા સાથે કેદ થાતો આત્માનો અંશ. On that word sir has written one short story. It's more interesting and metaphorical uses in his work.
